This weekend Dimple with daddy keeping him out of the mud puddles (no boots!).
A picture from the past ... what it can be!
DISCLAIMER for Deereandy's sake - the grass pictured is newly planted and uncut. This should explain the patchyness and length. The shed in the back is the previous shed, the top picture is one of Deereandy's last year projects. He has since cut back the lilacs and hedge as well (although I liked the hanging over look).
This evening brought a fresh glimpse of spring. After a few miserable, cloudy, rainy days with ugly, blackened snow banks everywhere, a reprieve. Bright sky, sunlight warming, pavement drying, snow banks continue to recede at amazing rates, robins and other birds arriving back after a long winter to sing their songs in our piece of country. How blessed I am today. It is always with excitement and trepidation that I greet spring. Spring is delightful in and of itself, but too quickly after the heat of summer begins to rise. I really struggle with summer at times. My energy lags and I feel uncomfortable (at times ill) from the heat. NOT this year, though. Four Manitoba winters have officially cured my typical approach to spring. For the first time I can remember, I am so hungry for grass and trees and birds and beauty that I give nary a thought to the insects, humidity and heat of summer.
And all it took was four Manitoba winters! That's pretty good in my book!
