I figured I'd better put something up here for January. I'm really not a good blogger like so many of you out there. I can use my dial up connection as only part of my excuse, I could use Chirpee as one as well, but those would just be excuses right? Oh yes, I could also mention that my Deereandy is usually online when I find time to be, but that would also be an excuse.

Tonight there are "blizzard-like" conditions outside. Being a non-native and having never experienced such things, I'm not sure if I can tack the blizzard label on this storm. I'd ask my husband, but he is stranded at his mom's house and not able to drive the three miles it would take to get him home. There is very poor visibility tonight. So the boy and I are here to fend for ourselves (well Spaz is here too). I considered locking our door tonight since Deereandy isn't here, but then I remembered that those attackers and robbers couldn't see enough to find the house so I walked away from the door chuckling to myself.

Well, the snow blows around outside and the wind swirls around the yard making a general mess. Deereandy just reshovelled the path from our front door to the garage yesterday. It looks like it will need it again in the morning. I'm just glad Deereandy tucked the dog away in his house before he left to rescue his mom in the storm. I didn't really want to go out in this, although it wouldn't really qualify as a hardship. Things aren't so grim that I'd need to tie a rope to myself in order to find our front door or anything. I suppose this probably isn't a blizzard then?

Chirpee is growing ever stronger, but I think he is too content with life. He will be five months tomorrow and still hasn't attempted to roll over. I'd be worried, but he seems to have all the ability to make it happen. He just doesn't apply himself. It is as if he thinks he'll be able to get on fine in life without rolling over. I've tried to explain to him the benefits and practical application of such a motion, but he just looks at me as if he doesn't understand a thing I'm saying! As a meddling mother I've even assisted him in rolling over, but on his own he'll just lay there until someone caves and picks him up.

He does seem motivated at other things, like eating, sleeping at night (yippee!), shoving things in his mouth, he's trying to gain command of his fingers and coordinate his hands with his eyes. He even seems interested in sticking his foot in his mouth. His little abdominals are getting stronger and stronger as he struggles to lift him self and keep himself righted. Chirpee really is such a good little boy.

Well, it is time to get some sleep and pray the power will stay on. I don't want to wake up to a freezing house.

Hi! Yes, dial-up can be a pain, can't it?

It looks like Chirpee is pretty happy. And growing - what a cutie.

It was nice to run into you at the store today. Keep warm! :o)

Chattering away feeling your blizzard pain over here.
Mind you being out of the city might freak me out a bit in such conditions, you are soooo brave!!

I dream of the country, but in the winter I just don't know....

And Chirpee sounds like a delight!
