That is what life here is all about. One adventure to the next. Between our spring time adventures with water in the basement, new sump pumps, dry well, non-potable water, broken furnace fan, car repairs, septic woes, etc, etc (I could go on) and our current problems with recurrent dry well, hauling water, leaking septic pump and last night the furnace wouldn't shut off . . . well my husband keeps busy when he's not at work. These mishaps are the unplanned projects on top of the planned ones since we've lived here. I'm just thankful I have such a clever husband who knows how to fix all these things!
Yester eve I noted the house getting warmer after I'd finished cooking dinner and that was when we realized that our furnace wasn't getting the message from the thermostat upstairs. Deereandy promptly went to work trying to figure out the problem. After I put Chirpee to bed, I went downstairs to find my husband sitting in a chair positioned in front of the panel of the electric furnance - staring. Well he figured out the problem and this morning I was able to retrieve the part he needed to fix things. So we are warm again after a cold night with our furnace turned off. The blessing is that at least we didn't have the opposite problem! We would have had bigger problems what with the cold and all.
Until the rain comes again to refill our cistern in the back yard it appears that we will be hauling our water in to dump into the well. This month we've been great water conservationists and had three deliveries of water (compliments of my Mr.)
This came on the heels of our sewer pump leaking in the basement which came on the heels of our sewer pill needing replacement. So we have lots of fun around here and laugh a lot (at least I try). If we ever move from this house, it will be all fixed and in working order for whoever moves in after!
The reality is that Deereandy and I are blessed to have a warm place (usually) with water that usually runs. I was reading an email from some missionaries and was humbled by how blessed we truely are.
