Ask And The Door Shall Be Opened...

"Because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her." Luke 18:5

"We should be careful what we ask from God; but when once we begin to pray for a thing we should never give up praying for it until we receive it, or until God makes it very clear and definite that it is not his will to grant it." - R.A. Torrey

The past week I have found many scriptures and devotional snippets that have been speaking about asking the Lord for the desires of my heart and having faith in him for the outcome. As much as I am not a "name it and claim it" promoter, there is a place for requesting things from the Father and a place for believing that He is able to provide the desires of our hearts. Just as I would want my son to come to me and request things that are on his heart rather than harboring them in the secret places, so our heavenly Father desires to hear our hearts. He delights to give his children good and perfect gifts just as earthly parents love to give to their own. The only way to receive the promises of God are to unite those promises with a measure of faith. How big a measure? As small as a mustard seed. Nothing is impossible with God!

My most common struggle is lack of faith and I am encouraged to read of the man who spoke to Jesus, "I believe, Lord, help my unbelief!" He knows our weaknesses -he made us!

It's encouraging to know others struggle with the same things I do. Thanks for sharing this!
