This morning as I snuck into the dark kitchen, making sure to stand in the right places in the hallway for minimal floor creaking, I made out a strange shadow on my kitchen counter. "What is that? I don't remember leaving anything there before I went to bed." I giddily realized my Deereandy had bought me some flowers and a card was leaning against the pot. I love getting flowers and these were my favorites - tulips! Yippee! It was with much tenderness that I realized Deereandy had been thoughtful enough to remember my favorite, but also that these were the same color as our wedding tulips.
I opened the garmantuous card and saw he enclosed a poem he'd written. Wandering into the living room and lowering into the recliner, I finished reading the card and opened up his poem to me. Both of us used to write poetry, but something happened when we got married and we just never find the time for it! So it also was a special treat in and of itself.
The last lines of the poem struck me:
Oh my! Does that mean he bought me a ring?! Now I started feeling a little guilty for joking about anniversary bands. I wasn't serious, no really...I wasn't. But the words were there and my wedding ring has more diamonds and no safires, so........
I went on a little hunt. The ring is shown above in the picture, but this is really where it was:
He's such a sweet pea! I am daily amazed at his love and his thoughtful care for our family. The Lord has truly blessed me with a man who loves beyond measure!
