Painting and Trees

I blog so irregularly these days I forget how to get my pictures to load up in the proper order.  So this will be a backwards blog post.  Which really shouldn't be too confusing since there isn't much order to it in the first place.

I was cleaning out boxes from under the stairs and rediscovered my art supplies.  The boys found this particularly exciting so Chirpee harassed me until I finally caved and took them outside for a watercolour paint session.  Not that I had much to teach them...but got the basics about two dishes of water and how you spread the color with a wet brush.

Chirpee is my perfectionist who is very concentrated on what he is doing.  He really wanted to try the oil paint, but I wasn't up to it, so those have been put aside for yard sale.

Chipee is refreshing the paint water.

The other morning I took Rory out for his morning "business" and Chirps followed me outside.  He promptly walked up this tree.  I have been waiting for this day for years, I thought surely they would have figured out before now that we have a miraculous climbing tree right next to the back deck.

It took six years, but he finally saw it through my eyes.  So now I just wait for one of them to fall out.
