Okay, so I'm not really thinking about "chewing" per se, but eating. Chewing is an essential part of that, but I was looking for a title with some alliteration incorporated. Diet and nutrition sound so boring.
Some may know that I've spent a lot of time looking into nutrition the past couple years. Unfortunately (fortunately), I got pregnant last year and spent a good part of it avoiding food completely then ravenously making up for lost time the remaining months. Since I was so fatigued and had some chronic pain issues, I was unable to stand up and cook in the kitchen for any length of time. The end result was resignation to a lot of processed foods (the ones I had been pulling out of our diets prior).
Since I am able to cook again these days, I have resumed my voyage into the world of nutrition. I am going to try to move our family into a higher protein, fat diet and take a big plunge in our carbohydrate world.
I'm mourning already. I love carbs. They are the only foods I really like (other than butter). Meat is repulsive to me on many levels...but it must be done. I am really excited to see how Andrew and I might feel after the transition (and hoping for weight loss rather than gain).
Some might think we are crazy, but I'll add some links here so you can look for yourself at a just a couple of the websites I've got my information from.
My plan of action is to menu plan a few weeks out, buy some food for it, do gluten-free for ... a time (haven't decided if I'll do the 60 days) and see how it goes. I'll probably do some online ordering for it so I'm thinking the beginning of July is a good time to take the plunge.
I might keep you posted!
