What's Good?

Reading time is at a premium as a mom.  I have to sacrifice something, somewhere and it often is that pleasure reading time.  If I do read it is about parenting, homeschool, devotionals, etc..  Whatever happened to some good fiction in my life?  The mindless adventures or even the literary greats?!  Well, I am sure there will be a season for them again (perhaps further into our homeschool journey).

For now, I thought I'd put a few titles out there that I'm really enjoying right now or recently:

1.  The God of All Comfort - H.W. Smith
2.  Tramp for the Lord - Corrie ten Boom
3.  Created to be His Help Meet - Debi Pearl
4.  One Thousand Gifts - Ann Voskamp
5.  Homeschool Enrichment Magazine
6.  The Old Schoolhouse Magazine
7.  Educating the WholeHearted Child - Clay and Sally Clarkson
8.  Hello, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle and Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Farm - Betty MacDonald

We are rediscovering the library around here.  Weekly trips are in order and we check out about 12 things at a time.  Very nice to get some free variety to the children's books in the house and sample authors without having to actually spend money.  If they are good - well, I'm always game for buying things to add to our bookshelves.

What are you reading?  Any favorites right now?

Oh the song of the mom. I miss reading so much! Sure I read but it just isn't the same. It is much harder to lose myself in a book. I miss the falling to sleep a book and waking up at 4:AM and reading some more! The books sure do change - mostly good changes but I do miss the good old murder mystery. Have a great day!
Love,
Micki

Library! -- I love the library for the boys. D is just old enough to be happy to select a few books to take home. P still removes handfuls of books onto the floor. I just started taking them to story hour. Fun! One series my kids love now is by Tony Mitton: Terrific Trains, Cool Cars, Busy Boats, Amazing Airplanes are some of the titles. Very readable and fun poetry.
